If one of your ships is destroyed, the lack of debris makes it impossible for enemies to reverse engineer your technology. The value of this is that you can spot foes from farther away. With this Ascension Perk activated, your sensor range is increased by two, your Hyperlane detection range increases by four, and your ships won’t leave debris behind. You need to have one perk selected before being able to utilize Enigmatic Engineering. These late-game Megastructures are imposing creations, sure to make any would-be rival think twice before challenging your galactic supremacy. You need to research Mega-Engineering technology, built or repaired a Megastructure, and have allocated three Ascension Perks to unlock this. Because the availability of technologies is based on an RNG mechanic, a boost of 50% is incredibly valuable. More importantly, rare technologies are 50% more common. Once you’ve taken this perk you gain a 10% increase in your research speed. Like Interstellar Dominion it doesn’t have any prerequisites. These late-game abilities require a lot of work to unlock and once selected, you can never remove them. All of your existing Leaders, along with any you recruit from this point forward, will be Immortal. There are nearly limitless numbers of ways to prepare your empire to rule the entire galaxy when playing Stellaris, but ascension perks are one of the most powerful. You'll be able to modify the Synthetic species with Robotic Trait points, so this is the time to start tinkering to specialize the populations of each planet to your liking. The new species will not have any of the traits they previously had, positive or negative. This one is executed just like the first one, and when it's completed it will convert all of your organic pops into a new Synthetic species, which you can name. When Synthetic Evolution is unlocked, another special project will appear in the Situation Log. ![]() This will make your immortal characters even stronger when the time comes! If you complete a Tradition tree but don't yet meet the prerequisites for Synthetic Evolution, Transcendent Learning is a good choice in the meantime as it increases the level cap of all Leaders by two. Once you have both of the required techs, Synthetic Evolution will become available for your next Ascension Perk. All future pops and Leaders will have the Cybernetic trait applied without needing any input from the player. The amoung of Engineering required depends on the total number of biological pops in your empire to be converted. Activate the project and commit your Engineering Research to it, and once completed it will give all your pops and Leaders the Cybernetic trait. Doing so not only reduces the upkeep of robotic pops while increasing their construction speed, but it also unlocks a special project in the Situation Log. ![]() Once you've unlocked at least one Ascension Perk and have the Droids Technology, you can choose The Flesh Is Weak after completing your next Tradition tree. Taking Technological Ascendancy as your first Ascension Perk is good practice in general, but it can really help here by speeding up research and making rare Technologies you'll need later appear more frequently. ![]() While you're working your way toward this first threshold, be sure to unlock the Powered Exoskeletons, Robotic Workers, and Droids Technologies from the Engineering tree, as these are requirements for the Perk The Flesh Is Weak. You can start down the Synthetic Ascension path as early as your second Ascension Perk - usually around the time when you start meeting the other empires in the galaxy, depending on your Unity output.
